Outside of 5 Leaves; Williamsburg, New York
This picture doesn't quite get it across, but those shoes were really something.
I think those who can keep their whites white are another breed of people,
the type that can see into the future and avoid stains and natural disasters.

Inspiration Collection Number 1
Consequence to a lack of inspiration on the street, I decided that I'm gonna just post some pictures today that I've collected over time that I'm particularly influenced by....
This picture is one of my all-time favorites. I'm craaazy about triangles for one thing,
not to mention biased towards short spiky hair.....
.... and late 80s fashion in general

I'm a big proponent of focusing on textures, textiles, and shapes over colors, and all those aspects are pulled off so well in this outfit.
(Strong shoulders yet feminine but not in a look-at-me-I'm-a-feminist sort of way)
The lace/leather/silver mash-up dresses it up and down at the same time.
It's always so impressive when one look can be dressy and casual at the same time.
I am awfully curious what the shoe situation was in this shoot....
Simplicity when it comes to accessories is big, and I think this chick did it just right. If she were to have added a necklace it would have been too over-the-top but it's right on how it is. I think the future of fashion is in part tailoring (which is just lovely with this dress) and tastefully mixing pieces from different eras, which she totally pulls of with the earrings/haircut/shoes combo.

Bleached hair + Tutu collar + Slim fitting everywhere else =
the first time I've seen Lady Gaga not go over the top
That's all for today.

Introduction
Hola! I've been wanting to do this fashion blog for some time now and just finally picked a name.
The title "2000 threads" is inspired by the many fibers present in each person's life. Living in Buenos Aires for roughly six months, many people have asked me my age. Tired of having the
"Sos una nena!" (You're a baby!) discussion, I automatically began to respond that I am 2,000 years old. Each of us in this world possesses a world of stories, and of threads. As we can never get to know every person we come across in our day to day lives, we are left to represent ourselves- in a passing glance- by our exteriors. Whether we use clothing to comment on our adaptation, to set a tone for the day ahead, inspire the people we'd like to be, or any other variety of causes, it is impossible to argue the incredible influence that fashion has in our world.
The goal of this page is to share photos of people I encounter who strike me in passing, using the tools of moda. I have been collecting photos of people here in Argentina, but hope to continue this throughout my travels to come.
Saludos,
Xena
